HARRISBURG - Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) has announced that he has successfully secured a state grant to support an important water project in Providence Township. The grant, totaling $680,000, was approved by the bipartisan Commonwealth Financing Authority in the Department of Community and Economic Development.
The funding will be used to aid an ongoing manhole and interceptor relining project in Quarryville Borough and Providence Township. The Quarryville Borough Authority, which requested the grant, aims to improve the water drainage infrastructure in both Quarryville Borough and New Providence. Specifically, the grant will facilitate the relining of 11 existing brick manholes and approximately 2,770 linear feet of the existing 8-inch transite interceptors located between 2350 Old Road, New Providence, and 368 Camargo Road, Quarryville.
