HVAC Program Receives Donation of Oil Burners, Equipment

Lancaster County Ctc-Willow St. Campus issued the following announcement on Jan 26.

The HVAC program at the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center’s Brownstown campus recently received donations of several oil burners and other boiler/furnace equipment.  These donations are a result of connections and relationships with industry leaders, regional companies that support the educational mission of the LCCTC, and a service organization that brought everything together.

The donation was facilitated by the Southeastern PA chapter of Oil & Energy Service Professionals (OESP).  OESP helped to connect businesses eager to support the training of future service technicians and the CTC’s HVAC program.  Mark Smith, Advanced Fuel Solutions, Inc., is an active member of OESP said that promoting education and making connections between businesses and the trade schools is one of the principal missions of OESP.  “It’s all about supporting education and making sure that HVAC students have what they need to learn,” Smith said.

Bruce Graham from Carlin Combustion Technologies, Rosemarie Bartchak from Boyertown Boilers, Furnaces, and Controls; Scott Sweigart of Venco Sales Inc., Curtis Martin from the Beckett Corporation; Scott Ansel from Meyer Oil Company; and Mark Smith from Advanced Fuel Solutions Inc. all participated in bringing these valuable donations to the HVAC program.

Students in our HVAC program spend a lot of time breaking down and rebuilding many different components of heating and air conditioning systems as part of their curriculum.  This puts understandable strain on critical parts.  New oil burners and the other donated components will help to keep our students learning on the same, industry-standard equipment that they would see out in the field.
