Bart-Colerain Elementary School issued the following announcement on May 19.
After his own graduation from Solanco High School in 1975, Blake Deibler earned his teaching degree at Millersville University in three years and returned to the Solanco School District as a teacher in 1978. Middle School principal, Paul Gladfelter, had this to say about the long time Swift Middle School math teacher: “Blake has been a colleague, a caring and compassionate educator, an inspirational figure, a role model, and a friend over the years; however, most importantly Blake provides others with hope through his unwavering desire to have them succeed in life. The impact Blake has had on the lives of those individuals that have been enriched through their encounters with him is mind-boggling. The Solanco community is a better place because of Blake and the investment and support he has consistently shown our residents. Blake was the kind of educator whose inspiring presence filled a room, even long after he exited.”
Mr. Deibler taught for 34 years. During his final 19 years, he was also a part-time pastor at Wesley Church while he and his wife, Lisa, were raising their three children. After his retirement from teaching in 2012, he became a full-time pastor. The church has grown significantly over the years and Blake is currently the lead pastor. If you ask Blake what he likes to do, family will be at the heart of his answer. Whether it is being a good husband, father, grandfather or time spent with members of his church family and community, his goal is to be a great family guy. Blake looks forward to returning to his alma mater to serve as Distinguished Speaker at graduation on June 8 where he will deliver a message that will be beneficial to the graduating Class of 2022 as well as their families and the community.
