Bart-Colerain Elementary School issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.
BID REQUEST
Solanco School District, Quarryville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania will receive sealed bids for Mechanical Renovations to Bart-Colerain Elementary School, a prevailing wage project. Bids will be received until March 16, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., prevailing time.
Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “Mechanical Renovations to Bart-Colerain Elementary School” and delivered to the Solanco School District Business Office, 121 South Hess Street, Quarryville, PA 17566-1225.
The bid opening will take place on March 16, 2022, at 2:30 pm at the Solanco School District Administrative Office. The bids will be publicly read. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond of a surety company legally authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in an amount equal to ten (10%) of the bid. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of the actual opening of bids.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and payment bond or bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price within ten (10) days after the Contract has been awarded and may also be required to furnish a Contractor’s Qualification Statement.
Solanco School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to accept or reject any parts thereof, or items therein, and to waive any defects or irregularities in bids and bid securities, and to make the award that is determined to be in the best interest of the District.
Electronic Bidding Documents may be secured by bona-fide bidders on or after February 21, 2022. All bidders are required to obtain Bid Documents through Solanco School District or their bids can be rejected. Bidders shall send request and non-refundable fee of $50.00to Moore Engineering Company, 3637 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603. Once the request form and fee are received, the electronic Bid Documents will be forwarded via email.
The project is subject to the provisions of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, P.L. 744, the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Acts, and current Davis Bacon Federal Wage Rates.
Bidders shall refer to the provisions of Federal and State Statutes, Rules and Regulations dealing with the prevention of environmental pollution and the preservation of public, natural resources that affect the project, said provisions being submitted as part of the Specifications pursuant to Act No. 247 of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania approved October 26, 1972.
