Martic Elementary School issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.
The Martic PTO is looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year. We hope everyone had an amazing summer and we are so excited for the new year to begin. The success of the Martic PTO happens when we all work together: teachers, board members, parents and guardians. There are many ways that parents/guardians can play an important role for the PTO. Volunteering time and skills, attending meetings, making phone calls and volunteering to help with fundraisers are just a few areas where volunteering would be beneficial. Volunteering can be rewarding and is
a great way to get involved with your child, help your community and maybe even establish new friendships. We encourage you to attend one of our meetings, or reach out to one of our PTO Board Members.

Our first meeting will be on September 8th at 7:00pm at Martic Elementary in the Library. It is a very informal meeting where we discuss future events, fundraisers, assemblies, book fairs etc. The PTO is important for our students. We sponsor a vast amount of activities and events such as:
- FIELD TRIPS – PTO helps fund field trips for every grade
- ASSEMBLIES – PTO funds several assemblies throughout the year
- BOOK FAIRS – PTO hosts 2 book fairs for students
- BOOK SWAP – PTO arranges a free book swap for all grades
- FAMILY FUN NIGHTS – PTO hosts a variety of events such as Bingo, rollerskating etc
- SPRING FLING – PTO sponsors a family and community event with food and games
- PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT – PTO funds equipment needed for the playground
- SCHOLARSHIP FUND – PTO provides 2- $500.00 scholarships for graduating Martic Alumni
- WINTER WONDERLAND – PTO arranges low gifts for purchase, free crafts and refreshments
- SIXTH GRADE AWARDS CELEBRATION – PTO helps alleviate the cost for a celebration
- TEACHERS WEEK – PTO does something for the teachers for Teacher Appreciation week
