Paradise Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Yesterday we were informed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that the current state guidance related to masking requirements on public transportation was inaccurate. The Federal masking mandate for public transportation includes school buses. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “Passengers and drivers must wear a mask on school buses, including on buses operated by public and private school systems…”
We will have to align with the Federal order as outlined by the CDC. Therefore, starting on July 12, 2021, all learners riding school buses or vans to and from school for any summer programming will be required to wear a face covering, either a mask or face shield. This Federal order does not extend off of the bus, so learners will be able to remove their face coverings once they exit the school bus or van.
If you have any questions, please contact the District Office at 717-768-5530.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and flexibility.
Sincerely,
Dr. Erik B. Orndorff
