Pennsylvania State Senator Scott Martin, who represents Lancaster County and chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee, has recently voiced concerns on social media regarding state budget practices, energy policy, and education funding.

On March 10, 2026, Martin commented on Governor Shapiro’s proposed budget, stating: “Gov. Shapiro’s budget relies on billions of one-time sources and billions of new revenues that haven’t been easy option to get done. We need to work to right-size government to bring expenditures more in line with revenues to prevent billions in new taxes on PA families.”

The following day, March 11, 2026, Martin addressed Pennsylvania’s energy needs: “️Just another reminder: we need an energy policy that focuses on boosting baseload production to meet our energy demands. That’s the only way to get affordable, reliable power in PA and beyond.”

Later that same day, he raised issues related to cyber charter school funding: “Cyber charter rates are set by 500 different funding formulas through the state. The politics of this are really starting to interfere with the education of kids and the choice of parents.”

Martin’s public statements come as part of his broader legislative focus on fiscal responsibility and quality-of-life improvements for Pennsylvanians. According to his official website, he promotes initiatives for clean water, supports veterans, and has influenced laws protecting children and victims of domestic violence. He has also led both the Senate Education and Local Government Committees during his tenure.

As a senator representing Lancaster County within Pennsylvania state government, Martin continues to address issues affecting public safety, education policy, and economic management in the Commonwealth.
