Pennsylvania State Senator Scott Martin, who represents Lancaster County and serves as chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, recently shared several updates on social media regarding state budget concerns, educational grant opportunities, and youth engagement in agriculture.
On February 10, 2026, Martin voiced his apprehension about the state’s fiscal direction following the governor’s budget address. He stated, “I spoke with PCN immediately after the budget address to discuss my serious concerns about the dangerous spending levels in the Governor’s budget. His plan does not represent a realistic path forward.”
The next day, February 11, he reminded constituents of ongoing educational opportunities. In his post he wrote, “ICYMI: The application period for the 2nd year of the Grow PA is open now! As a reminder, even if you received a grant last year, all applicants must re-apply for the 2026-27 school year. Learn more: https://t.co/AKNFSvMG1P. https://t.co/rSutyxECNC”
Later that same day, Martin highlighted youth leadership within Pennsylvania’s agricultural sector by welcoming Future Farmers of America (FFA) officers to the Capitol. He noted local representation by stating, “I appreciated the chance to welcome the Future Farmers of America state officers to the Capitol recently. They serve as amazing ambassadors for the agriculture community! Lancaster County’s own Sarah Firestone is currently serving as FFA President!”
Senator Scott Martin has served multiple terms representing Lancaster County in the Pennsylvania Senate and has led various committees including Appropriations, Education, and Local Government. According to his official website, Martin promotes initiatives such as clean water projects and veteran support events while also focusing on public safety and legislation benefiting children and domestic violence victims.
