FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments from January to September 2024.

In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was sent on September 26, 2024, and it specifically seeks a list of all payments made to vendors by Dekalb County from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024.

The details requested include the name of the vendor, the date of each transaction, a description of what the transaction was for, and the amount paid. These specifics will allow us to scrutinize how public funds are being spent and ensure that they are being used responsibly and transparently.

As a media organization dedicated to reporting news and holding public institutions accountable, we believe access to these public records is crucial in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. It is with this intention that we have asked for a fee waiver as part of our request.

We eagerly await the response from Dekalb County and remain committed to providing transparency for our readership regarding local government affairs.
