Rep. Bryan Cutler has announced that two projects in the 100th District will receive funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program (GTRP).

Bart Township has been awarded a $100,000 grant to develop a new trailhead for accessing the Enola Low Grade Trail. The project includes constructing a trailhead on Lamparter Road with 20 parking spaces, ADA amenities, pedestrian railing, seating, a connecting path to the main trail, and informational signage. Landscaping and erosion controls are also part of the project costs.

The Southern End Community Association in Quarryville has received a $5,100 grant to improve handicap accessibility at the Albright Family Pool. This involves creating a paved parking area and walkway for easier access from the parking lot to the pool area.

“I am pleased to see both of these projects receive funding from GTRP,” said Cutler. “Both projects improve on recreation opportunities for our community, allowing more people to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful nature that God has given us in Solanco.”

Act 13 of 2012 established the Marcellus Legacy Fund which allocates funds through the Commonwealth Financing Authority for planning, acquisition, development, rehabilitation, and repair of greenways, recreational trails, open space parks, and beautification projects using GTRP resources.
