Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Peach Bottom) has announced that the Chester Water Authority (CWA) will receive a $19.2 million loan from PENNVEST to support upgrades at its Susquehanna booster station.
The planned improvements include replacing three constant feed pumps with 1,500-horsepower vertical turbine pumps equipped with new variable frequency drives, removing an existing variable speed pump, installing a backup generator capable of running two pumps, and replacing both the switchgear equipment and transformer as well as the existing generator.
“This funding will help CWA finish this critical project,” said Cutler. “This ensures our neighbors will continue to have access to safe drinking water thanks to the incredible workers from the 100th District. I also want to thank Sen. Scott Martin for his partnership in working to secure this funding.”
PENNVEST provides financial support for projects across Pennsylvania that focus on sewer systems, storm water management, and drinking water infrastructure.
