House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) has expressed his appreciation for the grants awarded to fire and emergency medical services (EMS) organizations in southern Lancaster County. Cutler emphasized the importance of supporting these critical community assets to ensure the safety of the community.

"Our fire and EMS personnel are the backbone of our community and they sacrifice their lives and well-being to help their neighbors. Providing state investment into these critical community assets helps ensure they have what they need to be prepared to take on the tough job of keeping our communities safe," said Cutler.

The grants awarded in the 100th District include funding for the Bart Township Fire Company, Christiana Community Ambulance Association Inc., Christiana Fire Company No. 1 Inc., Quarryville Fire Company No. 1, Paradise and Leaman Place Fire Company, Strasburg Fire Company No. 1, and Robert Fulton Fire Company. The total amount awarded to these organizations sums up to $101,012.21.

These grants were made available through the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, which was created by the General Assembly and administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. It is important to note that the funding for these grants comes from the proceeds of slot machine gaming, rather than General Fund tax revenue.

The projects eligible for funding include the construction or renovation of fire or ambulance company facilities, the purchase or repair of equipment, training, or the reduction of existing debt. This support will enable the organizations to enhance their capabilities and effectiveness in serving the community.

The grants serve as a testament to the commitment and dedication of the Pennsylvania state government in ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens. By investing in fire and EMS organizations, the state is taking proactive measures to equip these essential services with the necessary resources.

The grants received by the fire and EMS organizations will undoubtedly contribute to their ability to respond effectively to emergencies, protect lives, and ensure the safety of the community. The recognition of their invaluable contributions by House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler further highlights the importance of these grants and the dedication of the personnel involved.

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives, under the leadership of Bryan Cutler, continues to prioritize public safety and support the vital work carried out by fire and EMS organizations across the state. These grants are a testament to the collaborative efforts between the government and the community to safeguard the well-being of Pennsylvania residents.
